Non-Professional and Pre-Professional

 

From 25th to 26th of February 2012

 

 

Article1 : Objectives/goals

The non-Profit Organization “Je Monte sur Scene” main goal is to promote classical Dance and Neo-Classical Dance to the national and international level, and enable inter relation between the dancers and the ballet schools.

 

Article 2 : Candidates

The competition is open to non-professional from 8 years old to 25 years old and to pre-professional from 10 years old to 22 years old on the 1st of January 2012.

Candidates are considered pre-professional when taking more than three classes per week in the same field and not working in a professional company at the time of the competition.

The Candidates who have already won a gold medal in a certain category are not allowed to re-enter the competition in the same category. However, candidates are allowed to enter the competition in a different category.

 

Article 3 : Jury

Members du jury: The jury is composed of well know figure from the professional ballet world with international renown: Theater Director, Artistic Director, Maitres de Ballet, Principal Dancers...

 

The jury’s decision are final and not subject to review or appeal. The jury has the right to not reward any medals.

Article 4 : Date

The third competition “Je Monte sur Scene” will be held on the 25th and 26th of February 2012, at the Altigone Theater, place jean Bellieres, 31650 St Orens de Gameville

Stage dimensions: depth 10m from the edge of the stage

width 15m from the wings exit.

All additional informations will be provided at the same time as the convocation.

 

Article 5 : Levels categories

5.1 The categories

The competition “Je Monte sur Scene” include two categories:

Pre-professional and non-professional and is open to all Regional, National, or International Ballet School.

 

 

5.2 The Non-professional

The non-professional category is composed as bellow:

Individual category girls and boys levels:

Preparatory : 8/10 years

Elementary : 10/13 years

Middle : 13/15 years

Superior : 15/25 years

For the middle and superior levels, Pointe shoes are compulsory.

 

 

 

Couple Category and Group category (3 à 12 participants)

5.2.1 Individual variations categories

Variations in the individual categories are compulsory.

The choreography of the variations have to be very well respected. The non-respect of this clause will follow by the disqualification of the candidate.

The variations are available on DVD. You can order them at the non-profit organization “Je Monte sur Scene” for 22 euros.

 

5.2.2 Couple and group variations categories

The variations in the couple category are free.

There are minutes guidelines depending on the level

A 10 seconds overruns is allowed.

In any case of the minutes guidelines non- respect, the couple or group will be disqualified.

It is required to send a CD with the name (s) and surname (s), category, level, name of the composer, music title, the length of the music, and the ballet title.

It is strongly advice to bring a second CD in case of unexpected problem of the day of the competition.

5.2.3.Outfits

It is required for the variation outfits:

Individual non-professional girls category: Skin colour tights, skirt is allowed if short, black leotard is not allowed.

Individual non-professional boys category: grey tights, white t-shirt.

Non-professional couple and group category: The choreography must be danced in an appropriate costumes.

 

5.3 Pre-Professionals

The section of pre-professional is composed as bellow:

5.3.1Variations category: individual and Pas de Deux

A free variation is compulsory for the 10/14 years old candidates.

A free variation and a variation form the repertoire is compulsory for the 15/22 years old candidates.

A 10 seconds overrun is allowed.

In any cases of the time guideline non-respect, the coupe or group will be disqualified.

It is required to send 1 CD for the free variation and 1 CD for the compulsory variation with the name (s) and surname (s), category, level, name of the composer, music title, the length of the music, and the ballet title.

It is strongly advice to bring a second CD in case of unexpected problem of the day of the competition.

 

5.2.3.Outfits

All variations have to be performed in appropriate costumes.

 

Article 6 :Prizes/Grading

Only upon the jury decision will prizes be attributed. Prizes may modified in a ex-aequo situation. The numerics prizes will be divided.

Article 7 : List of document

The participation of the competition “Je Monte sur Scene” require to provide :

  • Inscription form to send back before 2nd of February 2012.

  • The image right release weaver form.

  • 1 CD per variation for the couple and group non-professional.

  • 1 CD per variation for the pre-professional categories.

  • A copy of the identity card , passport or visa, all valid at the dates of the competition for each candidates.

  • 2 identity photos.

  • One envelope format A4

  • The cheque for the 12012 membership 2012 to “Je Monte sur Scene” of 10 €

  • A inscription cheque to the competition« Je Monte sur Scène » depending of the chosen category

Individual : 45 € per candidate

Couple :     20 € per candidate, so 40 €

Group :      10 € per candidate.

Pas de deux : 20 € per candidate , so 40 €

 

 

Article 8 : Reimbursement

There won’t be any reimbursement made in case of non-participation, or any other cases.

 

Article 9 : Exclusion

All non-respect of the rules or regulations will result by an immediate disqualification of the candidate (s).

 

Article 10 : Acceptation

By the act of registering to the competition, the acceptation will be valid only when the full payment will be made and received.

 

Article 11 : Multimedia

The non-professional and pre-professional allow pictures, film during the repetitions and competition. The data will be property of the non-profit organization « Je Monte sur Scène » who is allowed to use them in publicity without any kind of compensation for the person filmed or photographed.

Personal films and pictures are completely forbidden.

 

Article 12 : Responsibility/ Insurance

The organizing committee of the competition won’t be involved in any moral, corporal, or property prejudice damages caused to any person or candidates and companions during the competition as well as the transportation made due to the competition.

All candidates will have to insure themselves against all kind of moral, corporal, or property prejudice caused to an other person during the competition as well as the transportation made due to the competition.

 

 

Article 13 : Authority Appeal

Only the organizing committee of the competition will have the right to derogate the rules and regulations.

The organizing committee of the competition hold the right of the possibility to changes the time in case where the numbers of candidates will exceed the approximation.

The organizing committee of the competition are the only ones allowed to be in contact with the jury members during the competition.

 

Article 14 : Spectators

The competition is open to the public.

Tickets are sold by mail through the non-profit organization “Je Monte sur Scene” before the 15th of February 2012 or on the day of the competition.

 

The Candidates do not have to pay tickets by presentation of their members carte 2012.
